A boy and his pizza

Even though Shane just nibbled his pizza—and almost fell asleep while doing so (as is evidenced in the propped-up-head iPhone pic above)—it sure was good to walk down to the cafeteria with him.

He smiled today more than yesterday; and he even let out a few boisterous belly laughs when squishing green playdough animals by summoning his alter ego, Shanezilla.

Today was okay...and, God willing, tomorrow will be better.

  1. It will be, and the next even better and so forth (probably until the teenage years - yikes!) I love reading about how well he is doing, even if it's just baby steps! Thanks for the visual images that your witty words create in my head - he is such a beautiful gift from God! As are you guys!

  3. I'm SO happy that little Shane is doing better now. I have kept him in my thoughts and prayers every day. Shane has the sweetest angel voice (heard from your blog) and such an uncommonly beautiful face. I would love to draw or paint him someday! Thanks for keeping everyone in the loop through your blog, which has been so well written. Chris, your gifts of writing and photography have brought us all closer to Shane in so many ways. Also, "sunset from the window" photograph was amazing. All blessings on the healing days ahead. With love from NY,
    Connie (MA's oldest sister)
